Farm Day Details...

Join us on this exceptional agritourism experience, where you will immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Coquira Soil Project, an agroecological livestock farm just 70 minutes from Panama City.

During this field day, you will learn about sustainable livestock practices. You'll discover how high-density holistic grazing is a crucial regenerative component for soil health and a primary tool against erosion and desertification. You will also witness how waste from one area of the farm is reused in another (including the bioconversion through insect protein production), promoting a closed circular economy.

The experience starts at 8 am, and there is plenty to see and do. As soon as you check in you will run into our forage bank, and the vast amount of information and nutritional wealth the tropical ecosystems provide. You will then make your way up to the Visitors Center for coffee, breakfast, bathrooms, and explore our food forest and permaculture gardens until  the tour on tractor begins at 10am.

First we will ride towards cattle which we will see grazing in a serene and natural environment. We will share all you want to know about the role of sustainable livestock in food security and combating global warming. On the way we will also see horses and sheep, aiding us in the landscaping and fertility in every corner of the farm. We will make brief stops at our Composting facility, then through the greenhouses for our silvopastoril and food forest projects, chickens, ducks and our organic waste bioconversion  through the black soldier fly.

We will return to the centenarian farmhouse where you can stroll through any section marvelous edible forests you did not reach before and the variety of sustainably grown fruits and tubers in the most sustainable manner. Keep exploring and you will run into crops and herds of ducks controlling the insects, and when you are ready, our seasonal restaurant will provide you with what you want, straight from the source.

You will also have time to purchase fresh organic meats and other harvests of the day to take with you.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn about sustainable food production at this unique tropical farm, very near Panama City!

¿What do we do at the Farm?

CSP is a working farm, currently managing 1200+ heads of cattle,

25 horses, 30 sheep, a few hundred ducks and chicken, livestock

guardian dogs, and black soldier fly. It is a constant coordination

with mother nature and its perfect imperfections. Every herd is

in motion, readjustment y self balancing. We only guide the process

with intentional soil progress and water conservation practices.

We offer a behind the scenes full day tour of our farm lifestyle and production processes, where you can learn the details of biodynamic

food prodiction in harmony with nature.

¿What are we going to eat?

Our farm to table 0km restaurant serves Breakfast with the healthiest eggs in the country (we can explain why we claim this) from 8am, and late  lunch until 2pm, with the most natural, healthiest, and transparently sourced ingredients that you could imagine.

We have a seasonal mixed offering of grass fed beef, free range chicken, vegetarian stews, or any other of the chef´s inspirations with what the grounds provide us.

¿What does Coquira mean?

Coquira is the name of the port at the end of our street: Via Coquira, which currently is only 6 km long (but a bridge over the Bayano River is currently under construction). We are right in the middle. The Port of Coquira has been a historic staple and economic muscle of the fishing industry of Chepo and several nearby pacific ocean island communities. The little reference we have found point to an aymara Bolivian indigenous word meaning: "tireless traveler"

¿What else do you sell?

We have a celebrate Commissary where you can regularly take with you a few regenerative proteins from our farm, to your family week´s menu. We also have fruits, tubers, preserves, eggs, plants, Black Soldier Fly larvae for your pets, and among the best organic fertilizers you could possibly source. Everything is harvested and put together with the best environmental intentions, with Zero KMs   between the source and your shopping bag.
